::A quiet bar with the locals. Friendly staff. Average bar food. Good place to catch a game. Keep an eye open for happy hour specials.

::Easily my new favorite bar in the neighborhood! I celebrated my sister's 30th birthday there last week and Tortoise & Hare helped make it an amazing night to remember! The staff were also amazing. First of all, I called them only 6 days before and the co-owner, Chris, was more than accommodating. The other co-owner, Anthony, served us delicious (and potent) drinks all night long and was also very accommodating to our rambunctious group of revelers (like when I kept adding "2 more," "1 more", "3 more" shots to our group cheers). Jasmine took such good care of me, my family, and my friends from the minute I got there and needed some tools (pencil, butter knife) to finish up the party favors to the moment she left (even though we tried to get her to stay and party with us). The marinara in the meatball appetizer was better than any I've had in the neighborhood (and I've had them all). CANNOT WAIT to go back for bottomless brunch ($18), games (90s trivia, Heads up), to try their French Onion Soup Dumplings(!!!), and to check out one of their special events like paint night or trivia!

::I love this place. Great drinks from cute bartenders, and good food. Try the french onion soup appetizer and the bbq nachos. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, The bathrooms are clean too. I like that this place is big enough to be able to choose from a table or a stool at the bar, but still cosy and welcoming.

::One of my favorite finds in the Bronx!! First and foremost the owners Chris and Anthony are wonderful, the rest of the staff does a great job. They are all super friendly and make sure each time is a unique experience. The real kicker is the food, it is so good and fresh and made with true love! The pricing is super affordable and the have a great bottomless brunch. It is also family friendly, they do a ton of fun events weekly. If you are in the Bronx it’s is def a spot you should hit even if it’s just for drinks. Did I mention they have their own land mark across the street at Van Cortlandt Park. If you come here you are definitely #winning.

::Borrowing its namesake from the tortoise and hare statue that graces Van Cortlandt across the street, this cozy neighborhood bar it dishing up all the classics. With unheard of three dollar beer specials and craft cocktails, tort has quickly become my favorite neighborhood bar. Drop in for a bite on the weekend and the bar manager will be happy to tune anyone of the six TVs to the channel of your choice. Service is quick and friendly, your burger comes branded and you bask in the warm glow of the fireplace with friends. If you are ever up this way put tort in the top of your list!
