The history behind this historic home is just incredible. If you get the chance to visit be sure to do so even if it's just for the views of Sandy Hook Bay and the New York skyline. They just don't make them like this anymore.

One of the nicest places I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The view is stunning and the service was perfection!

Simply outstanding! A most beautiful inn with magnificent views of New York City and the surrounding Highlands waters. Chad and Anna are most gracious hosts meeting our every need and making us feel most welcome. First class all the way!

So my husband and I were in the NYC area for the weekend and wanted to enjoy some time by the ocean. Found a number of places to stay and the Thomas Pain House sounded wonderful. The hospitality was incredibly rude. The gentleman came down to meet us after our long flight and drive, looking forward to a warm environment, to a man in a bathrobe. He made us feel like we were inconveniencing him. When I asked if I could pay him for the night that we had reserved he said, "sure". When I asked what time will breakfast be, since it is a BED AND BREAKFAST facility, he told me "oh no you will not be getting breakfast", since I cut you a deal." UMMMMMM I thought this was a B&B? So we got up early to spend the day on the beach. No one was in sight. We left feeling like we had intruded and was unwelcomed. The place itself was absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous views, but to call this a B&B? Nope, do not think so. I certainly would not recommend this place or go back.

Had a great experience at this B & B. It was our first time ever at a B & B and the owners made us feel very welcomed. The house itself was like a page out of the history books; we felt like we stepped back in time. The attention to detail was amazing. The view of the Manhattan skyline was amazing. We are looking forward to a return visit very soon. We would highly recommend this place for a romantic getaway, or a special event with family and friends.
