::Despite living a few miles away, I had never been here. Nice historic place. The boy scouts recently cleaned out the adjacent stream and it looked lovely.

::If only Thomas Paine wasn't thrown under the bus by the other founders because of his blatant honesty and his religious writings, he would be recognized as Arguably the most important founding father of them all. For if not for the great Thomas Paine, and his writings "Common Sense" and the "Crisis papers", there might not have been a revolution and without the "crisis papers", the battle of Trenton certainly wouldn't have been won. If Mr Paine was recognized as he should be. Perhaps the Thomas Paine Cottage would have been properly memorialized and many more people would know of him. He did more for this country than Washington and at least as much as Jefferson. Paine deserves a great memorial in Washington DC like the others who did much less for this country. In fact it was probably Thomas Paine who wrote the original draft of the declaration of independence and Jefferson and friends edited it. There's a great book by Joseph Lewis called "Thomas Paine Author of The Declaration of Independence".
