Quite expensive, many things not priced, and many things not for sale “because they are used for staging or waiting for an upcoming auction”. Those also happen to be the nicest things. Not sure how they stay in businsss, but it seems like the don’t really care either

The same junk you can find at a garage sale but for $300. Super rude woman behind the counter also. Save your time and money.

In business longer than most grocery stores, Thieves Market, features true antiques that have ended up in the homes of many McLean residents. The shop is modest, located in a roadside mini-mall, but avoids the overflow of merchandise in other small stores. Instead, it is a well-presented collection of actual antiques where you can walk, examine, and see items from the early half of the 1900s if not earlier. While nice, the thieves Market has a condition that seems to befall all older stores: legacy pricing. Whether merely having old tags or simply holding fast to the value of items in years prior, the effect is that many prices are at the high end of retail. I will stress again: these are actual antiques, more than $100 years old in many cases and not intended for bargain shopping, though, so go with that in mind. Overall, the Thieves Market has a nice collection of traditional items with understandably higher prices. They are a choice destination in McLean for true antiques, not yard salery or eclectica, and will hopefully provide visitors with at least a few interesting finds.

Really interesting pieces, and friendly staff, but prices are expensive, strange considering how poorly some of the objects were treated - books seemed to have been arranged and handled roughly, even those in delicate condition. There were empty cigarette and ketchup packs lying around, and the very cute doggie who wanders the shop had his food scattered all around his bowl among pieces of furniture and antique textiles. Vintage hats were hanging from hooks by their fragile veils, one was crushed underneath a plate. Used ash trays were sitting on some of the tables, and the shop smelled pretty strongly of smoke. Pieces were often not labelled with prices, especially photographs and other paper goods. Great stuff, but not very well treated, which would make me reluctant to pay the prices. If the owners don't treat their stock like it's worthy of what they're asking, I'd rather go somewhere else.
