Had wonderful and unforgettable memory here at the Washington Center in the Fall 2013. Life changing exposures to a group of talented students worldwide.

Would be nice to complete an assignment without getting kicked off the wifi 20 times. This program is not what I expected. Some rooms are nice and some are trash. The LEAD classes are pointless and the classes themseleves are more work than a college clsss. On the positive note, they really do make you create a network and take a lot of trips around the area.

Yes, it's disorganized, and It's a lot more work than I expected. I can see how it'd be a complete waste of money before the new residential facility was built. I think it'd be a waste of money if you didn't think before you jumped on your first internship offer. If you apply for the Washington Center thinking that they're just going to hand you education and experience, this program isn't for you. Before you come here, you need to know what you want. Be assertive. You should research your organization to find ways in which you can contribute. The Washington Center is for 2 types of students: 1. Ones from public schools who strive make good grades, so they can get scholarships to help pay for their tuition. In Massachusetts, it's a $5,000 scholarship for making a B average (3.0). In my case, I also qualify for financial aid. My bill is minimal, and I've been dealing with more unorganization from my school's end of the bargain than that of TWC. 2. Private school students that are used to dishing out ridiculous amounts for every semester anyway. I assume that they might be saving money by taking the trip to DC. If you fall into either of these categories, you might find that a semester in Washington would be a great for your professional and personal growth.

The people who work for this company as "teachers" and "program advisors" may or may not have graduated from high school based on their complete incompetence. They find you internships that you could easily find yourself, and trust me, no one in DC will believe you have credibility as an intern if you're coming in through this program (in fact, I've heard the opposite from several professionals). Housing is AWFUL and you could certainly do better finding your own, and the events they have you go to are DISORGANIZED, MINDLESS and a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. For example, a man going through powerpoint slides who clearly (admittedly) did not make the slides or know what was coming when he got to the next slide. What a joke. If you are a student or an academic institution, DO NOT use this program unless you want miserable, dissatisfied students like me who are frustrated and angry about wasting money and time. My blood is boiling just thinking about these awful crooks.
