::I really like this place. The restaurant is set up nicely where there is an area for folks working, a bar and a restaurant and they've made it work very nicely in a single space. The pizzas here are really good, so are the drinks. This is a great addition to the neighborhood.

::A comfortable place to sit down eat really good wood oven pizza and have a glass of wine in the evening. Good vibe, nice music you don’t have to compete with for conversation. No reservations. I haven’t tried their day time “coffee and pastry” menu. I plan to.

::The Uptown Garrison is new on my radar, but somewhere I will keep coming back to. The aesthetic is nice - not too kitschy, clean but warm with a slight industrial feel (I know that sounds random, but it's hard to encapsulate). The food is good - there is a very basic pre-5pm menu, but it's the brick oven pizzas which I come here for. Paired with a glass of red, and the convivial atmosphere, its a great way to unwind after a crappy day.

::Great spot for comfort food. The broiche buns used for the sandwiches compliment the components very well. The pizzas are similarly well-crafted. The staff have a very pleasant demeanor. It can get a bit crowded (particularly at night) but during the daytime, it's a wonderful spot for coffee. Definitely a wonderful spot for anyone new to the area. Update: Still really enjoy this place.

::TL;DR: I highly suggest this place for the food, service, and ambience - especially if you're looking to slow yourself down and refocus. Went for a walk in the neighborhood and came upon The Uptown Garrison. It surprised yet intrigued me - and I went in (a Tuesday, around 10:45 AM). Not too many people there but most were enjoying the ambience of the place - very chill, relaxed, and yet a great place to get work done. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and helped me with choosing their Black and White Cold Brew on draft as my drink. Surprisingly it wasn't too sweet, unlike other places I've been to. The breakfast menu offers a small variety of items, including the typical pastries (croissants, danishes, muffins, etc) and different breakfast sandwiches. I was pleasantly pleased to see granola on the list along with other healthier options - again, unlike most places. I settled with the breakfast sausage sandwich; it was messy to eat but delicious. I highly suggest coming here especially if you're looking to slow down from the hustle and bustle.
