::Sprawling property with plush, spacious rooms and a peaceful ambience. Restaurant area has an elegant, upscale vibe with a generous bar area. The outdoor pool area features ample seating in a wooded area. The pool itself is a warm, inviting temperature more conducive to soaking and plunging than swimming. The building and grounds are very nature-oriented and offer a pleasant departure from the typical hotel environment.

::We loved how quickly we were checked in, and the fact that we were able to check in earlier than 3 since our room was available. That has never happened before anywhere else. The staff that we encountered were pleasant and kind. Everyone had such a soft spoken tone. The food was delicious, it was an explosion of different flavors coming together. We can't wait to go back, we are hoping for a wedding anniversary. We couldn't try out the spa since it was being renovated I believe. Another reason why we must come back, I have to try out the spa servies.

::I have always LOVED the Umstead and only love them more now than ever. We hosted my niece's bridal brunch there in September, and from the first interaction to the last, we felt seen and as if our business mattered. The event space was cleaned, well-decorated, and set up for the best flow of the space. And the staff was available and visible for whatever we asked for. And the food was perfect. It did not seem like “hotel” food. Thank you for making this day so amazing!

::We had dinner at Herons and they made our birthday celebration the most memorable ever! Each course was so beautiful and delicious. The creativity and taste were unbelievable. Also, as the only vegan at our party the chef out did it. The most attractive and delicious I've ever had! Vegan Viv gives you a 5 star vegan style. Thank you for your gift!
