::We ate at the grill. We had the swordfish and prime rib (specials of the day) AMAZING! Though the skirvin has some wear and tear on it the service and food was top shelf! Highly recommend if your looking for a 5 star experience and want to see a hotel/architecture untouched by time!

::This place is modern but thankfully Hilton kept the 1920s alive and well on the inside. Sipping whiskey on the rocks in the lobby after ten pm while the piano player cranks out period-specific songs (think Irving Berlin) really create the perfect mood. Some people say it's haunted and it could be. We had something strange happen during our stay but of course, I'm sure there's a logical explanation for the occurrence๐. Make sure you book a suite as the king deluxe room has a major flaw in it. The window curtains are about a foot removed from the window allowing the floodlights that illuminate the front of the building into the room. Even with the all the lights off you can read in the room! The staff was wonderful though. They moved us and our luggage to a much better room. Parking is ten dollars a day in a garage around the corner which has an outlet near the front of the hotel. The food at this joint isn't top notch but it's a nice convenience. Pack some nice clothes don't wear your flip flops!

::I attended the Dinner Detective event and it was great. Our table did have a problem with the service at our table. One of the people at our table did not receive their salad and we had to ask for it to be brought. We didn't receive bread at our table, didn't even know there was a bread basket that was served with the salad course until they talked about it in the show. We then had to ask for the bread. Several of us purchased drinks from the cash bar and it wasn't consistent with the amount that was served. I purchased a glass of wine and received a normal 5 oz pour, but then a few other people got wine and ended up with an almost full glass.

::The Skirvin is easy to find downtown. The ambiance and decor of the lobby are everything a hotel should be-leather club chairs, red velvet, helpful-yet-unobtrusive staff, with a lovely piano lounge and an upscale restaurant attached. I cannot say enough about the muted rose scent downstairs in the lobby, either. They should bottle this stuff! The ghostly rumors added a thrill to our stay, but we were not sad to sleep soundly. The rooms were clean and nice, but a bit of a let down after such a fancy welcome in the lobby. The rooms were rather ho-hum and could use more flair.

::Great Hotel. Great location. We were here for a conference and the amenities for the conference at the hotel were perfect. Everything from meeting rooms two services for the conference specifically were on point. The bar at the hotel had a great atmosphere and it was hard to not just stay and have drinks there every night. The bartenders were well-versed in making a good drink. Really enjoyed the modernization of the Historic Hotel while still leaving the old charm.
