::This hotel is located right along the river and Michigan Avenue. You can choose to have a view of the city or pay a little more for a view of the river. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to stay. It’s close to so much and if you want tor travel farther, you’re only a couple blocks away from the train line. There are so many options within walking distance including some parks, the river walk, many restaurants, the art institute and the theatre district. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were spacious. The decor is stylish. I felt like the pictures on their site completely matched. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The lobby area is stylish, inviting and a great spot to wait for others to come down tower you, people watch or read a book. I loved the fireplace! The only downfall was that the walls are a little thin and when it was busier on the weekend, I noticed voices more when I was in our room. I would definitely stay here again.

::My husband and I took our children on a road trip for our oldest 6th birthday. This was our first trip as a family and we had a blast. My husband and I were nervous because we didn’t know if the boys were going to love the hotel/view. The trip was scheduled from Thursday-Sunday. So we stayed a nice amount of time to really enjoy ourselves. The boys absolutely loved our stay at the hotel and it was nothing but AMAZING!!! We all fell in love with the room and the view. Seeing the water and the city was a beautiful site to see. Every time we returned to our room, they ran to the windows to look at the beautiful view. Matti, Sammy, Billy, Charles, and Alan made our stay phenomenal. You really don’t see kind customer service often. All 5 gentlemen were so kind and extremely helpful, going out of their way and going the extra mile to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Our boys made a few friends as well. Sammy and Billy always greeted our boys making them smile and laugh. Everyone we came outside, the boys practically jumped in their arms excited to see them. It was so nice and embracing. Our oldest repeatedly said he love this hotel and wanted to stay even longer. I promised him we will definitely be back. We’re thankful to know that Sammy, Billy, Charles, Matti, and Alan are one of the main reasons our stay was phenomenal. We’re definitely returning customers every time we come to Chicago. House keeping and the front desk were phenomenal as well. Very welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable! Thank you Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown Family. Our family appreciate you all and we’re happy we were treated with such care.

::The room was beautiful, the staff was friendly and let us check in early (for a few, not a huge deal) and the location is ideal…. that’s where the good stopped. The elevators are difficult and with 4 of them definitely shouldn’t be so hard to get one to your floor but we had to take the stairs multiple times because we waited forever. We were charged an additional time for our room in the middle of the night after paying weeks before arrival. This is on top of the incidentals and early check in fee. After speaking to 2 different staff, we were assured all of the extra funds were “released”. 3 days later, our bank still does not have a release from them on those funds.

::We stayed here for 3 nights recently and were very comfortable. Not the biggest room, but big enough for us and very clean. Super-comfy bed. A beautiful view of the river and city lights was the cherry on top. Checking in went smoothly and employees were welcoming. Oh, and the beautiful lobby smelled amazing!

::I stayed here for 5 nights. The room was spacious and clean. I really liked that they have a single serve Keurig in the room because I like my morning coffee before I leave the room. I opted not to have my room cleaned, so I can't comment on how they do while you're staying. However, service was great when I requested anything. The front desk was quick to offer storing my bags while I waited for my room to be ready upon arrival. The only negative thing for me was the way the elevators work. You need your room key to operate them and if you've never done it before it's not as easy to figure out. The scan device is next to the touchscreen, however, on my first trip it blended into the wall and I didn't notice it. The wall is polished chrome and the back is a dark color, so consequently the place where you tap your room key, which is black, can be easy to miss at first glance. Overall, it was a good stay. I was really impressed with the friendliness and great attitude of Katina, specifically.
