I’ve been coming here for years and still love it. It has that comfortable familiarity to it. The building is very cool and the food and bar are excellent. Biergarten is very cool outback and perfect on nice days.

Only reason it gets 3 stars is the incredible draft and bottle selection of German beer. Otherwise I would be tempted to give it 1. The food there used to be a place my German family loved to go to, the food was authentic and all. New Management has taken over. His name is Dave or Dan or something. He isn't interested in upholding the heritage, integrity or quality of the restaurant. Truly sad, this used to be a fantastic hub for German families to gather. Now it makes a mockery of the culture. Not even Dan can screw up the beer though!

We are getting married here, so this is a wedding planning and event review: amazing. The ambiance is legendary, as is the food and beer. We mostly work with Brooke, and sometimes Paige, and they are professional, fun, easy to talk with, eager, and know their stuff. Price is good, but you know, weddings...but everyone is excited for wurst, pretzels, and more! The food is killer, the space excellent, the history sublime, and you even get coat check coffee! A fantastic event location with a fan staff that make every visit exceptional.

Nice place. First time ever going there this past Saturday. I went to see my fave band perform Brent James and the vintage youth. The staff was nice especially ms Kathy that worked the door at the concert and the bartender i didn't get his name but he was a tall black man he brought me my food and made my drinks that were awesome. The chicken poppers are awesome. I definitely wouldn't mind returning. Thumbs up 👍👍👍 Rathskeller.

Fantastic German beers on tap directly from some of Europe's oldest breweries! And the German food was spot on authentic and delicious. The huge dining areas and bars are also right out of old style Germany. I hear the music is usually awesome, but haven't been ti hear a band. This is one of Indy's true historic gems. A must see (eat and drink) for anyone!
