  Not many options in Old Tappan to host a large birthday party. Bit disappointed that the put 25 plus of us on the main room and not in the private room downstairs. Food portion are quiet bug, but quality not there

  A Big Disappointment An overall horrible experience. We arrived 15 minutes early for an 11 a.m. reservation on Mother's Day. The door was open but the staff was clearly still setting up. We asked if we could sit and wait, and the "NO" response was barked at us from a man who we were not speaking to and who kept his back back to us. Just before 11 we reentered the restaurant with other guests (the doors were still open) only to hear the staff arguing about who left the door open. At that point, just 5 minutes before the scheduled opening everyone was asked to go outside in the rainy parking lot and wait. There must have been 25 of us standing out there. The door was closed at this point and reopened at 11:05 when finally someone welcomed us. I had a terrible vibe and should have left at this point. Once seated we didn't have a view of the buffet, but we were optimistic. Next disappointment... at $55 per person the buffet didn't have an omelette station or a single carving station. All of the lunch items were luke warm to cool and the food was mediocre (kind) at best. There were 3 dessert items and whipped cream to choose from. This brunch was extremely overpriced for the limited variety of food that was offered. I have no expectations that this place would be good on any day, and certainly can say stay away on holidays.

  I mean the food was horrible and the service waz next level rude... But you can't deny that this is such a cool experience to dine here because you are at historical place.

  Chef was having a bad day I think. I ordered a surf and turf and the steak was seared so much it was burnt and blackened and almost well done. They ordered me another one and it was seared (burnt) again but this time the inside was raw! I didn't eat it and the manager did remove it from the bill. Hopefully it was a bad day but I'm not sure if I'll go back.

  It was pretty good. We had the Valentine's Day menu so I don't think it was the true representatives of the restaurant.. I was underwhelmed by the salad and the bread. The salad was not as advertised and contained ingredients that I do not eat. My husband has a steak which was quite good. I had Lobster Thermidor had better. Our friends thought the fish was very good. Dessert was okay that nothing thrilling
