  I am recent arrival to the Portland area and have been relishing the variety of music in the area. A friend and I were attending a show at the Aladdin and were pleased to see that The Lamp seemed to be affiliated with the theater. We allowed an hour and a half for dinner knowing they would be busy. After waiting an hour after ordering we realized we would not have time to eat prior to the show but because the Aladdin allows food and drink from The Lamp in the theater, I asked the order be made “to go.” Fifteen minutes later our order was brought to us not packaged to go and missing half the order. We took the food plates and tried to enter the theater but were rudely stopped by a man who strongly resembled an unemployed mall cop telling us we were in violation of policy. If you have items purchased at The Lamp you must enter through a special door. Still the entire situation was understandable but was made to be inappropriate by the rude actions of both the Aladdin and The Lamp. I cannot speak to the quality of the food because I never got most of my order. I can speak to the poor planning and the refusal to accept responsibility when inadvertent errors are made. I won’t be returning to either facility

  We stopped in here before a show and beat the crowd. We were promptly seen by our server who brought us menus and took our drink order. It got very busy closer to show time and while it did take longer to get drinks after that, it was understandable. I had the hummus and falafel balls ($10) and they were really good and fresh. Wine was 7-9$ a glass and kinda small pours. Once the show started our server gave us plastic cups so we could take next door. Yummy food and nice atmosphere.

  It was a busy night but I couldn't overlook the bad service. The incorrect food was brought out for me no apologies or time frames of when my food would be arriving. My friend almost finished their whole meal by the time I got mine and our waitress never once came over in that time to explain what happened with my order. Also we had to stop her while she was at another table to get our check so we could make it to the show. Disappointing experience.

  Zero service. The one waitress on shift on a busy Friday night is literally sitting at the bar ignoring people who are filling up tables waiting to order food and drinks. Great farmhouse cheese (labneh) though, that is, once we finally got it by ordering from the bar ourselves. No table service at all = 👎.
