::First and foremost let me just say that any person who is having to call this Specialist, is in a touchy situation. People that apply for this job, to work in this field, should be compassionate and caring. Being rude to patients calling in should not be a quality of the person picking up the line. They should also not act as if you are bothering them to do their job. The process that one has to go through in order to get into this Specialist is not an easy one. Especially if you are brand new to the process. Things are new, and things are scary. I had a horrible experience with an intake coordinator with this department today. Mar was her name. Please go back and listen to this phone conversation. Hopefully it was a recorded call. I was calling to see if they had received all of the faxes from both my PCP and my Rheumatologist. "I guess I'll look through all these pages to see if the referral that you need is there." Exactly what she said. I'm so sorry my dear for causing you an inconvenience for doing your job. I nicely let her know, that she needed to recognize the field that she worked in and that she shouldn't be so snickety with patients on the phone, she needed to have a little more compassion with people calling into this field. I told her to have a blessed day. Completely unacceptable.
