  Perfect location close to shopping and sites. The rooms are comfy and quiet and the staff is very friendly. Try the James cocktail at the bar - delicious. Free coffee in the morning and wine and cheese in the evening. Would definitely stay here again.

  I've stayed at The James three times, and consider it my fave retreat from a hectic life. Trader Joe's across the street, great location for those who visit Chicago for shopping. Staff is attentive but not cloying. Superb concierge, Tim Samples. Primehouse has closed, but I believe there is a new on site restaurant. Newly refurbished lobby area is comfy and chic. Rooms are fab, as are the linens. Very fast, quiet elevators.

  Loft suite was a really nice idea! Well thought out room! Attention to detail and room maintenance left something to be desired. Maybe it was specific to the room I was given because I got my third night free

  I was in a one bedroom suite. The contemporary night starts leave all your private bedside items exposed. There is a bench for dressing. Only after I was packing to leaves did I realize the top could be lifted for storage, but not like having a dresser for organizing your clothing which is in the living room . The shower is a tropical rainfall as well as a handheld spray. Unfortunately, the door size opening to the shower does not allow the shower area to really warm up line an enclosed or curtained shower, so when the water goes off, you dry off in a cold shower stall. While this looks very modern and there is great water pressure (and lots of hot water ), I was not a big fan. The staff at the concierge, front desk, room maintenance, telephone triage, front door were exemplary. Definitely worth a return.

  I really enjoy my time here. Beautiful location for the price. Super friendly staff and great food. They have a Customer Service Ipad for the rooms. You can order everything from ice to sheets to towels and food with a swipe of a finger. They have successfully used technology to provide better customer care. Love it! Thank you so much!
