::The people can at least be friendly at work, it won't kill them. You can hear it in the responses.

::I'm building a new basement kitchen for a rental and overall working with Home Depot in this process has been rather terrible. If it weren't for the fact that HD offers free designs and has inexpensive cabinets I would definitely go to a Kitchen Remodeling company. But a few area locations are particularly awful customer service: Rhode Island Ave NE, Capitol Heights, and Hyattsville. Today I called this Rhode Island HD to schedule an appointment with Kitchen designer. I was on hold for about 15 minutes just to learn availability. I was bounced around from the store from manager (Corey) to various clerks. I was told that I could not book an appointment because the designer just got back from medical leave and wasn't taking formal appointments so to just come in. DO NOT ever just walk-in for kitchen designs. This clerk did not know what she was talking about. I have made that mistake when I was told to walk-in before by Hyattsville HD. I drove across town during rush hour, left work early, just to be told that the Kitchen designer already went home and that I should have made an appointment. I don't know why HD doesn't train their staff to tell customers appointments are required. If you want decent service, designers that answer the phone, and are knowledgeable go to College Park Home Depot. They always answer their phone. Hardly ever a wait.

::Do not use their flooring or installers - they are incompetent, ill-informed, and the installers are truly terrible. From the initial day where they stood me up to deliver the flooring, through the mid-install extortion for extra prep work, to the nearly weekly problems and repairs, this has been excruciating and, while it has been nearly a year, I still do not have functioning flooring. Seriously go anywhere else - not only does Home Depot not guarantee their subcontractors, but you will pay twice in the time spent on the phone and being home for repairs. (And cleaning time and fees, cause it's a lot messier to saw up flooring once you live there.)

::Great customer service and the items I look for are always in stock. They just need to consult Lowes for better store appearance.

::If you don’t need customer service you’ll be good to go, and as I frequent this Home Depot I can tell you that there are great employees here. However, I’ve experienced very long wait times on multiple occasions when I’ve needed a piece of wood cut or needed a key made and a few times it’s been difficult to find someone when I’ve needed help. Update Jan ‘18: moved down to 2 stars, as long as you don’t need service it’s an excellent location
