  Jim Davenport of the Furniture Shop came highly recommended by a good friend. I called him with a need to get several nice antique furniture pieces repaired or restored. He came to the house, looked things over and made recommendations. I felt confident with his understanding of what was required and his approach to making the necessary repairs. We have a beautiful roll top desk that needed the tambour repaired, which is the roll top portion that wasn't sliding closed properly. We also have a very unusual and beautiful English Oak table that needed the base repaired, and also several chairs that needed attention. Within a week or two, the work was completed, delivered and I was really amazed at the quality of the repairs, which in truth were so nicely finished that I really couldn't even see exactly where the repairs were done. As a dentist, photographer and calligrapher, I think I have a pretty well-trained eye, and I was really impressed with the first-class effort that Jim had done for me.

  The folks at the Furniture shop are miracle workers. I needed to get a Grandfather's Clock cabinet repaired that had been badly damaged from shipping (and my own botched repair job). They repaired the cabinet to where it is just like new. Thank you. I can't recommend these guys any higher.
