  Amazing vegan food and drinks. I wanted everything on the menu but decided on the “chicken” and waffles. It was really good with fresh honey, strawberries and what tasted like fried chicken. Their cocktails are great too. Also loved their vegetable fries and mushroom fried “calamari”. Whatever dip they provide with the apps we’re all delicious. Service was good here.

  My girlfriend and I are vegan and, since we don’t live in the triangle area, we don’t get many opportunities to have good vegan food at a restaurant. We tried Fiction Kitchen for the first time today, and we were truly blown away by how delicious the food was. I got the “pulled pork” with smashed potatoes and mushroom gravy, and my girlfriend got the “chicken” and waffles with the spicy sauce. Seriously, I can’t put into words how much we loved the food. It was SO GOOD. I also felt the portions were fairly generous. We definitely got a good amount of food for the price, in my opinion. We also got the Lemon Vanilla cheesecake for dessert, which was just as delicious. The restaurant was very busy and loud, and there was a wait when we arrived at 5:00, but that was to be expected since it was a Saturday. Even with how busy it was, our server was attentive, fun, and helpful in explaining the menu to us. All in all, it was a FANTASTIC experience, and we will certainly be making the trip back again some time!!!

  Nothing but amazing words for this place. First location is prime: very intimate setting, parking is right across the street, close to everything you need downtown. The customer service is stellar here as well. I have had the same waitress every time I visit & she is amazing. She knows how to explain meals perfectly and is very understanding when explaining how things work in vegan community. I really can’t explain how amazing the food is. If you didn’t know you were eating vegan food, you wouldn’t even realize anything different. Be sure to try the desserts!! All of them are amazing.

  Had a great meal here... much more tasty and filling than I expected for my first vegan restaurant experience. It is very well loved, and I hope enough people visit Fiction Kitchen for it to survive until the area around it transitions from rail-based industrial wasteland to retro hipster urban oasis. Kudos to their owners for being pioneers, both with their food and their location.

  I highly recommend this place. Some of the best service I've ever received was from Hannah, who clearly is passionate about what she does. The food and presentation was top notch, not to mention the speediness. I ordered the mock chicken in waffles with maple syrup and was not disappointed with this comfort dish. I've wanted to visit FK for a long time but their odd hours kept me away. Worth. The. Wait. I can't wait to go back!
