  The office folks aren’t very friendly nor did they seem interested in answering my questions. For a public charter, I find their lottery process completely unfair for those who apply early AND come to information nights. How ridiculous is it to accept over 200 applications for only 12 open spots. It should be much more transparent than that. Just seems like a way for them to weed out low income families, since judging by their information night, didn’t seem like they gave those parents the time of day. Super disappointed. Not only that- but the park across the street had tons of needles and trash. The drop off area is so small for those who drive- it looks like a headache and I did not feel comfortable with that whole process with all that traffic congestion. Glad we didn’t go through with enrollment in the long run.

  I transferred my son to this school when he was having problems at the public elementary school and he loved it. The teachers here are allowed to think outside the box and treat the children with more individuality than in the public school setting. I like that they take a lot of field studies and can explore the downtown area without having to pay field trip fees, etc. I currently have 2 of children enrolled and my experience is the same as it was with my son, however the school's lack of diversity is the reason I gave it 4 stars. They do have a committee of parents that are working towards changing the school culture and recruitment of more diverse families but it's a work in progress. Overall happy with the staff.
