::Love this quirky local shop for books and comics. The guy who works there is genuinely helpful and seems to appreciate his customers and love his store. It's fun to see what all they have in stock. Lots of interesting, different stuff.

::Best bookstore on planet Earth. Merch includes but is not limited to: Art / indie comics and graphic novels (Fantagraphics, Drawn + Quarterly, Nobrow, self-published, hand-made, and tons of small and tiny presses the world over); children’s comics; discounted comic books from the 60s-90s; art books; jazz, classical, and punk CDs; art house DVDs; literary novels; poetry; blank journals; postcards; more. Unlike most comics / art book stores, Copacetic boasts a large and deep selection going back many years, nearly everything is sold for well under cover price, and some items are absurdly cheap. The proprietor is a wonderful conversationalist and, after asking you some questions about yourself, can guide you towards selections that you are guaranteed to find intriguing. I live in Florida and I make a pilgrimage to Copacetic once a year when I go visit my dad. NOTA BENE: If you are looking for the latest in superhero comics, big head figurines, and the like, you should not go here. Instead, visit Phantom of the Attic in Oakland, a fantastic and beautiful store in its own right. Also you may enjoy the Kawaii shop in Shadyside, which deals in nerdy / cute Japanese and domestic toys. ALSO PLEASE NOTE: This store is located up three flights of steep stairs. If you have a mobility limitation, this may pose as a challenge. ONE MORE THING: For the best experience it is worth calling ahead to make sure Bill is working the day you go for your first visit. P.S.: Lili Coffee Shop, on the first floor, sells excellent vegetarian snacks. Try the Tempeh Reuben. There is a vinyl record store on the second floor, as well, which deals in classic records as well as the newest multicolored vinyl delights.

::If you like a small, eclectic, intelligent, stimulating, memorable book store which specializes in comics and graphic novels but has a fantastic, though small, collection of current and classic fiction, art books, film and photography and art cinema DVDs you will be in heaven here. You will find books you never knew existed, and others you have loved forever. The owner is worth the trip in himself --- hugely erudite, engaging, somewhat eccentric. A mensch and a jewel. One of my two favorite bookstores in the world.

::If you like old random books, you've found it. Otherwise, the book selection is weak and their comics are all indie, old, badly organized, and meh. It's cool and hipstery, but that's maybe where the charm ended for me. I'm a comic book nerd and collector and I was disappointed. The guy at the desk was cool, wasn't wearing shoes or socks, and was drawing something beautiful. So...that was something different and fun. But I won't go back.
