  The Community Chest is a humanitarian organization located in Englewood, New Jersey that funds nonprofit agencies serving residents of eastern Bergen County. Formed in 1932 in response to the nearly overwhelming needs created by the Great Depression, The Community Chest was created to allow neighbors to help neighbors. For more than 80 years since then, the organization has raised funds and allocated them to agencies that provide services to local citizens. Its mission is to lead initiatives and support nonprofits that make our communities stronger and benefit people in need in eastern Bergen County.
