  This is my first time going to a loctician regarding getting dreads for the first time. The place is very nice and neat and peaceful to be in. I was assigned to Sequoia ( I don't Know if I spelled her name right) she was very friendly and helpful towards what style to get when it comes to starting my loc journey. I went in the shop and sat down waiting for my stylist to get started on my hair. As I sat there I was showing a friend of mine who was also with me, a video when I tried to turn it down because it was too loud one of the locticians yelled at me to turn it down with a nasty attitude. "Talk about first impressions huh?" As I was sitting to get my hair twisted by Sequoia I hear most of the stylists were being very unprofessional gossiping and saying unnecessary smart comments. So when you read the comments about this place don't always believe the hype, make sure you do a full research before you think about coming. Its a very beautiful setting about the shop but I just wished the locticianists would be MORE professional at being about bringing a MORE positive atmosphere and MORE of a positive ATTITIDUE instead of acting like their in high school all over again when every last one of these women are grown and I'm sure they have kids to be an example of which is also a shame. Most of all being more about your business!!!! Now as for Sequoia she did a wonderful job at doing my hair and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a loctician to hook your hair up the right way. She was very nice, has a sense of humor, was very professional , she minded her own business and was very exceptional at what she does. In my opinion if I decide to come back on a regular basis to get my hair touched up I rather go to her than to any other loctician. Thank you Sequoia for doing a magnificent job for blessing my hair and I hope to do business with you in the future. Keep up the good work!!

  My son got his starter locs done here and I recently had a retwist and ACV rinse done. The service was great. The staff is super friendly. The shops in a great location. We got sorbet across the street right after. We cant wait to go back. Oh yeah, there is parking, you have to drive to the back past the DaVita spots.

  Shop full of “natural hair snobs”! And that’s fine, just have the skill to back it up. Will tell you everything that’s wrong with your hair, and what it “needs”, while they are in your head. What’s the point of a consultation if that’s the case? Had my first comb coils there, they were ok. Had my hair braided, atrocious. It didn’t look like a black women, let alone a “natural hair specialist”, braided my hair. Just called, lady was rude. The prices are too high for this type of customer service. Find a decent shop in the hood, at least it’ll be done right.

  Had a wonderful experience while getting my hair done. Staff is very friendly and make sure they take care of you. Consultation is needed for them but also needed for you so you can know how you hair is doing. THEY TAKE CARE OF YOU!!! They make sure that you look and feel wonderful. Nefertiti knows to point you to the right direction when it comes to the style your interested in. Prices are good, I had Bubba as my stylist and he took his time to do my hair and was very nice. He made sure that I was taken care off and had wonderful long dreads himself so I knew I was in the right place. He took care of my hair and I love in and can't wait for in to grow, I'm very excited and we had awesome conversations along the way. Would definitely recommend if you are or you can get to the midtown Detroit area!!!!
