::This was a very interesting experience for me! I've lived in New York for 14 years but had never done this one. Instead of a traditional museum, this museum has several small locations that you must see on a small, guided tour. The tour guide is very education and answers any and all questions. There is a part at the end to explore some artifacts. Maybe a great place to take your parents when they are in town visiting.

::I've taken my school group here twice and loved it both times! The actress who played Victoria Confino was excellent! If you choose a tenement tour, be aware that you have to navigate through tight quarters so strollers and walkers would not fit. This place is even more important today with immigration being a hot issue. The Tenement Museum does a beautiful job of educating the public about the rich history of immigration in our country and the positive cultural influences those populations have created. They have also done a wonderful job of recreating the difficult aspects of the lives of our early immigrants here in New York. You will leave this museum feeling grateful and enlightened.

::Excellent museum with really smart really friendly staff. I did the outdoor walking tour of the neighborhood and loved everything about it. The interpreter/tour guide was stellar! I recommend asking questions. They were happy to make it a real learning discussion.

::A must do on your visit to New York. Highly recommended. They don't allow you take photos so this is the only one I took, a sign showcasing their commitment to diversity. Apparently you can download pictures from their website instead. What a fabulous museum shop. Loved the whole experience. And suggest you check out Russ and Daughters cafe for eats before or after. Awesome.
