  My wife and I enrolled our son Malcolm into the Ten Tigers Kung-Fu Academy and two year later our son has transformed!!! Sifu is soooooo patient with the kids, classes are filled with lots of laughs, and smiling faces all within a structured learning environment. Sifu and Shue thank you so much for making our sons Kung- Fu experience so enjoyable!!! Best Martial Arts School in New York!!! Period...

  Recently my wife & I decided to attend a Tai Chi class. My wife had done Tai Chi in her past. Myself however, being involved in martial arts for over 25 years, I've never tried. It was simply something I never thought I would like. But after trying one class, I found it interesting. I decided to go to the next class and found it even more useful & inspiring. Sifu Rik Kellerman explained & demonstrated the exercises, form and some applications with a tempo that wasn't overwhelming and at a very comfortable pace to learn from. Well, to say the least of course we're going back for more. Love it & looking forward to the next.

  Recently I joined to loose weight and gain my strength back after years of poor diet and inactivity. It’s been two months now. I started at 243lbs and today I weighed myself. 200lbs even. Couldn’t do much physically when I started but now I’m very active. Rik Kellerman is an awesome instructor who is teaching genuine Hung Gar Kung Fu in Huntington NY. I’ve seen him interact with students of all ages and backgrounds so I can honestly say if your a child or an adult and want to get in great shape, learn real self defense, discipline and gain confidence this is the place to do it. He’s affordable and it’s FUN!!

  If you are looking for a martial arts school, then THIS IS IT! Sifu Rik Kellerman, co-owner and head instructor of Rik Kellerman's Ten Tigers Kung Fu Academy, once said during one of my classes, “We are so much more than martial arts. However, our martial arts are pretty awesome!” Wow, was he right! Not only does the school offer traditional, authentic Kung Fu, with a modern approach, they offer an amazing Chinese kickboxing program, Tai-Chi (authentic and is taught so anyone can learn), Tao Yoga for the body, mind and spirit (includes some cool yoga poses, too!), grappling (such an important skill set to have!) and Lion Dancing (this is super cool and is demonstrated throughout Long Island communities and schools). The children’s program, taught by both Sifu Rik and Shue (co-owner, assistant head instructor – check out Shue's and Sifu Rik's incredible bios on their website) is an eye opener because the kids really enjoy it. My young son attends the children’s program and he comes home smiling, and sweaty too (prior to this school, my son had attended other places, but Ten Tigers Kung Fu Academy is on a whole, new level). The children’s program is so good because Sifu Rik and Shue are natural teachers, love working with kids (this is quite obvious), always have the children’s safety in mind, make it fun, and importantly teach the kids self-defense, leadership, discipline, self-confidence, mental focus, character development and the value of respect for others. The adult martial arts classes, in which I am a part of, are perfect for all adults of any age. When I began, I didn’t have any martial arts experience, and yet I was met with enthusiasm, patience, encouragement and compassion. The senior teachers, who have been with the school for many years, are so easy to approach and eager to help (without egos!), are respectful and are skilled martial artists. I feel this is purely a reflection of Sifu Rik, Shue and the School. So if you are looking for a martial arts school that provides a supportive, non-intimidating, clean and safe atmosphere, that promotes non-bullying and character development, always has the student’s best interest in mind, and where the two head instructors – Sifu Rik and Shue, have 65-70 years of martial arts experience between them, then this is the school I fully recommend and endorse! ~ Dean & Ethan

  Having my son Wade join Ten Tigers Kung Fu Academy was one of the best decisions we made for him. Wade was a quite, shy and unsure of himself before joining the academy. His character and confidence changed, as he was able to accomplish the goals set before him. Not only has he learned how to defend himself but also avoid potentially dangerous situations. He now has discipline, which helped him in school. He has been on the honor roll all through high school. I think he is proud and confident of his new abilities. He is also more active and healthier than he was before sitting around playing video games. The academy teaches the students respect and they are taught to return the same respect toward others. Respect in children is something not seen often these days. Ten Tigers Kung Fu Academy has helped Wade perform better in school, increase his self-esteem, be a team player, and he has better self-control. Thanks you to the wonderful staff at Ten Tigers Kung Fu Academy. Sometimes it takes a village!
