::Temple Bar has to be one of my favorite spots in the city. The bartenders are attentive and kind and the owner is a really great dude. Drinks are strong, but well-balanced and not overpowering. The jello shots are amazing and at only $1 each, they can be quite dangerous as well! It's a perfect spot before or after an event at the Masonic.

::One of the most eclectic and exotic establishments in Detroit. Located next to masonic temple and founders brewery in Midtown Detroit this alternative bar, serves one of the strongest and cheapest drinks in the whole city. Remember to ask for a potent dollar jello shots. There is a cover on the weekends

::Intimate dance club. Can be busy on weekend nights. Really great underground house music. Friendly crowd. Drinks are stiff and affordable.
Justin Hatch
::Very unassuming local watering hole. Usually very calm atmosphere during the week and they host dance parties on weekends. The owner Gorge is very cool and pleasant to talk to. He has several interesting stories about the bar's history and Detroit's history in general.

::Spending the weekend in Detroit and walked in randomly on a Friday night. We met some cool people on both sides of the bar, drank some drinks and danced til the lights came on. We had enough of a great time that we went back for round 2 before heading back home. Definitely going back next time I'm in town.
