The food is good the servers work hard. They are Pleasant and nice. However I have found that Black Bear Diner does not have enough people for any given shift especially the one in Tempe. I sit there and cringe at how fast and how hard the servers are working when one more server in the house would have made it such a better experience 4 the customers.

Good food and service. The wait staff is generally quick to provide anything you need. Have visited a couple times during the weekend for breakfast and there usually is no wait. The food has been good each time. I have found that the utensils may be a little dirty, which accounts for the star off.

Tried to call in an order for over an hour and a half. Then walked in to place an order, they said it would be right up there was only 1 order in front of me. 30 minutes later I watched three sets of people wait to be seated walk out waiting to be seated. I will now drive 3 more miles to get better service from now on

My family and I have visited the diner on two occasions. Both times we were lucky enough to have Heather as a server. She goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and definitely creates a comfortable and positive dining experience. The food was also good. The cornbread muffin gets honorable mention because it was warm, soft, fluffy and delicious...my style of cornbread! Overall a pleasant dining experience with generous portions and great service.

We were going to go to Cracker Barrel again but decided to try something different. This was the perfect place to stop. We ordered the corned beef hash and the breakfast tacos. Both were made fresh and were delicious. They have fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit as well. If you are in Phoenix or Tempe definitely stop by.
