  I protested the appraised market value of my home. I met with Ms. King, Mr. Moreland, and Ms. Snow or the review board. They were able to start my review appointment early and worked through it quickly and efficiently. The were professional, courteous, and reasonable. We settled on a reasonable adjustment to the appraisal value inside of 10 minutes. I was extremely surprised at how smoothly and effectively the protest review was processed. I've never heard of a bureaucratic session going this well or efficiently in my life. Very happy with TAD and the review board.

  1971 mobile home on 2 Acres went up 285%. I don't understand how this is even legal that a property with a dilapidated mobile home can raise in value 285 percent. My home was worth$40,000 last year and now they're saying it's worth $133,000. I live in the 5200 block of Bennett Lawson Road where the mobile homes are. They clearly do not know what they are doing. If they know somebody that wants to pay me a $133,000 please send them my way. The home has a caved in roof and no one has lived there in 6 years or more. The home is uninhabitable. It is on 2 Acres. The house has been broken into several times. Taxes went from 900 a year to 3,000 a year. Now I've got to spend time and money to protest this. It's got to be illegal that they can go up that much when everyone else in Tarrant County has gone up like 37%.

  I was very concerned after reading the reviews but I imagine that many of them are about the website redesign, which personally, I haven't had any problems with. I filed a homestead exemption and was approved an appraisal value protest and I was in and out in a total of 9 minutes. I was greeted when I came in, helped promptly on both issues by friendly staff members and thanked by another agent on my way out. Thanks to Mike and the other agent that helped me today. (Hint: Show up early and have all your documentation correct and these people are very pleasant to work with.)

  Just left after filing my homestead exemption and am super impressed with the lady who helped me. Very nice, helpful, and answered all questions I had with a smile. Awesome!

  Got a huge tax increase from Tarrant County and GCISD so called in September to figure out why. Was told TAD had "inadvertently" cancelled both of my exemptions (household and 65). Employee told me should would reinstate and send notices to taxing entities. Called in November, she said notices had gone out Nov. 6. No revised tax statements in the meantime so I call today and Melissa tells me exemptions WERE NEVER UPDATED!!! So she made them while I waited. Now, entities won't get updated until January. No urgency, no real attention to detail. This is government in action. These people have no accountability so no reason for them to be concerned about customer service.
