::This is specifically regarding the Women's health center, as that's the only office I've been to visit here. Some of the nurses have come off as a bit clueless. (One ordered a pregnancy test as part of my visit, even my informing her that I have an IUD. This is also in my records, which the provider saw before confirming what I already knew - a pregnancy test was totally unnecessary given the reason for my visit.) On the other hand, the providers I've seen have been generally very helpful. The last one I saw, NP Elisabeth Newton, was really great. She was kind, straightforward and easy to talk to, which made the visit so much more comfortable.

::Depends who you get. I’ve had mixed experiences. One of the counselors was friendly and understanding, as was a doctor for a checkup. The doctors I’ve had at the women’s health center were astute and attentive. Some counselors were just condescending and one of the doctors didn’t seem to get why I had come in. So, going in, hope that you get lucky with one of the better practitioners.

::Why become a doctor if you treat your patients like nuisances? I came into urgent care because I had a chin laceration that literally went down to the bone, as I was later told by the surgeon who stitched me up. The provider with me handled it SO roughly, and pretended not to notice as I was crying in pain. She sighed dramatically when I asked if I could call my mom to double check about my insurance, as if it were the most ridiculous request I could have possibly made. Rude, unsympathetic, and unprofessional. The service was speedy but mildly traumatic.

::I'm glad I went when I was extremely sick, but had to talk to my insurance provider because I was billed for everything instead of my copay. Instances where I tried to get advice or make appoints over the phone were completely unhelpful. Honestly, treating your symptoms with stuff from CVS is usually a better option.
