::A little small but good people and well run

::Edit 4/5/2018: Avoid this location. Really. It keeps getting worse and worse for me. Yesterday, two items had incorrect prices at self-checkout. When I complained to an employee, I received a very bad attitude (bad enough I was motivated to complain in writing to the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection). If you must patronize Stop & Shop, the small Glenville location is tired, dirty, but better than this one. And the west Stamford location is cleaner, larger, but further. ______________________ Edit 10/11/2017: Avoid this location (lowered rating from 3 to 1). Service quality here has significantly deteriorated post-renovation over multiple visits. On today's attempt, I abandoned cart and left. Acme, Whole Foods, DeCeccos, Balduccis, and Citerella are all better nearby options. ______________________ Edit 7/16/2017: Currently temporarily closed for renovations. The store across the street is now an Acme and slightly preferable except for its inferior parking lot and access. ______________________ It's totally fine for a tired generic neighborhood store. It's better than the A&P directly across the street mostly because of the better parking and opportunity to partake of the liquor store, Cosi, etc in the rest of the strip mall. Deli was fine, I stay away from the prepared foods, and like everything in Westchester & Fairfield counties it all costs more than you think it should for what you get. Staff seems perfectly nice, especially the cart wranglers.

::I had high hopes for the renovation. It was really just maintenance for things that had to be fixed (think OSHA), and putting in self-serve registers to reduce number of staff. As you can imagine the already grumpy staff's bad attitude got worse. They don't bother updating prices, sloppy with putting out merchandise, and simple don't get customer service (e.g., Mary). Plenty of other options in town. Can't wait for a Trader Joe's!

::Stop and shop is always fresh. Clean store. Food is high. But lot of sale going on. But then and again you get what you pay for.

::Well managed well displayed and well laid-out store that is too small for the traffic. Appetizing produce meats and fish areas. Employees are helpful and friendly.
