::Went in at 3:40 pm (store now closes much earlier, at 5pm, to serve us better) and everything in the case had already been put away. Talk about putting out the unwelcome mat. Employee suggested I just use the signs that were still out. I asked if they had the almond croissant on the sign. He said they hadn't had that there for months in a tone that suggested how could I not know that? Left and went across to Cafe D'arte.

::I was given a gift card for Starbucks & went in to see what I might want and arrived just in time to see one of the staff taking their pastry display around 3:30pm and dumping all the food behind the counter. They noticed the look of confusion on my face and politely asked if I was planning to buy any of it. I said maybe & asked if they were throwing it in the trash. We exchanged a few more lines of civil discourse and I ending up learning that Starbucks forces their employees to throw way tons of food everyday. The employee wasn't allow to give me the food that they were just about to sell me, the company chooses not to give free pastries to customers that might be buying coffee in the afternoon, they don't let their employees choose to give it away before throwing it away. It is a disgusting waste. I lost my appetite. Just one more reason to go with a local coffee shop that empowers it's staff. They used to donate it to charity- but it has to be a group like a non profit- "for liability purposes" .

::This is a small store with a limited amount of seating. When the weather is fair there is outdoor seating provided. Barista Sam is excellent.

::I'm not sure what the point of reviewing a Starbucks is. Consistency is the thing they do best. Staff at this location is friendly.

::It's a successful chain because they quality is consistent, this location is no different.
