Star Island in Miami Beach

  This island is very easy to see from the road, and looks very much like a premiere gated subdivision that just so happens to be a man-made island. As you're driving across Biscayne Bay on A1A towards Miami Beach, just take a look to the left shortly before approaching the "Welcome to Miami Beach" sign. I've gone on a tour through the gates and around the loop, which was somewhat like a tour through LA or NYC. The mansions on Star Island are giant, giant residences in every sense. And while there are some celebrities who live on the island year-round, many others come to their Star Island homes seasonally... Kind of like the way 'Snowbirds' come down to their second homes all over FL during the winter months from northern states.

  I got past the guard on star island and got to see Gloria Estefans home. But I was told not to leave my vehicle. It was a number of years ago.

  So amazing!! Upscale beautiful island that's very difficult to get into. The houses are enormous. It's completely gated and there's a guard you must pass before entering the island. Every house inside has a gate as well.

  From Miami Downtown where we were staying to the next town Bayswater they take you on an half hour tour to the Star Islands, houses of the Rich and Famous was such and awesome experience.
