  For many years my family were parishioners at this church, since it was only a few blocks up the hill from my grandparents' house on Kingsland Ave. My grandfather was an usher and a member of the Holy Name Society, and my Dad went here for grade school. I remember many family gatherings, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc in the basement of St. Michael's church back in the 1980's and 1990's, including Father Miller's retirement party in 1995 (who used to be the pastor of the Church) and the 50th anniversary of Father Silver, who used to be a priest at the Church. A wonderful place to visit!

  There is something special about St Michaels; something spiritual. I think maybe that it is a simple, perceptible love of God. And the priests are fantastic. Good men who are encouraging their flock to live good Catholic lives. Many times I’ve thought they are modern day saints.
