::I’m a new 8th grader at this school, and I already think all they care about is money, we have something called a walk a thon, it was all propaganda, we walked around cones in the middle of the street and that was it, I was so pissed, also, there is no gym, lunch room, and no A/C, The school can honestly do better, they just have to think in the minds of a student like myself, the only thing that is good is that the teachers are nice and no homework friday. I hope they improve

::St Edmund's is a beautiful community of children, parents, teachers, and staff all working together to create well-educated, well-behaved, happy students. The building does need a little work, but plans are in the works: recently we got a total science lab overhaul, and it is really great; we also got grants to redo the security system. We have many lovely events to bring everyone together - recently we had a Pasta Night and Chinese New Year celebrations, as well as celebrating all the Catholic holidays in style! Catholic school isn't for everyone, but St Edmund's does have Title I as well as an honors program and other opportunities to excel. I have three children in the school and like it very much.

::I hope this schools will change with a new principal now in charge, but for the moment it is in high need for improvement. The building is old and smelly, without any a/c, no real lunch room, old dirty bathrooms. Children are not allowed to drink water/go to the bathroom, unless told by teacher (???) No water cooler in classrooms. The children rarely go outside. Emotional/social well being and development of children is disregarded. PA is comprised of stay-home mothers, who created a circle of so called "community parents", meaning everyone else out. These children are treated accordingly by school staff- those whose mothers are in PA are being favored (student of the month, etc) But what about working folks? Lunch fee is ridiculous, as no one really helps children in the lunchroom (dingy basement area, a.k.a. gym), when the kids ask to. So, where does the money go? The secretary is functioning as a nurse (!) The mentality of most is very narrow minded and that is being pushed upon kids as well. You even feel like kids are not in New York City. Level of education is mediocre at best. The higher the class the more extra work your child will need in order to compete with other city children. Bottom line: safe your money, pick a decent public school, there are plenty in the borough.
