::Artists who are coupled together both romantically and artistically generally produce amazing work. Think Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stieglitz, Jackson Pollack and Lee Krasner, and Frieda Kahlo and Diego Rivera. They were drawn together by their passion for life and art, creating groundbreaking works that challenged convention. Suusan Cooper and David Zung collaborative show at Square Peg Gallery in Hastings on Hudson challenges the viewer to embark on a mysterious journey with Edwina Time Traveler. The project began 10 years ago when Susan conceived of an alter ego and David began photographing and videotaping her conceptual performances. The imagery and photographs are incredible with many shot at night in surreal landscapes. Equally brilliant are David Zung's stark painting that explore political issues - from Lincoln with ravens descending into picture frame to a deer caught in the headlights of an on coming train. Anyone who lives in the Rivertowns understands the significance of the plight of our magnificent but fast breeding deer that were here way before us. Visit Square Peg Gallery tomorrow Sun. Jan.31st 2-5PM for Susan and David's closing reception. There is a conceptual performance by Kristin Prevallet at 3PM.
