::I was in Houston last week, I am from Vancouver and a old friend, a IT company CEO was with me. We had a meeting in downtown Houston and after that we were looking for a place to eat. My friend is really fond of Mexican food and he googled this Restaurant Spanish Village. Wow was first thing which came in mind, that was after looking at their antique tables. Oh my God, I had fallen for this place and that server was so sweet, really very friendly. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of Mexican food. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was almost 8:00 pm) but we managed to snag a good table with outside view. The place reminded me of very famous old Restaurant in Mexico. I then saw their history and happen to see some incredible old photos of famous people and then I found out this place "Spanish Village Restaurant” is the second oldest Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston, serving the city faithful since 1953. I saw many people enjoying Spanish music and I can say if you want to have most authentic Tex-Mex experience, where the maracas are on the ceiling, the fajitas are sizzling, and the margaritas are incredibly refreshing, then this is the place. Don’t forget to tell the young girl, the Manager of the Restaurant my Hi, if you meet her. Her tres leches cake was out of this world! Oh and also on top of this they had a nice place in the back for the waitress' baby, how wonderful a place can do that for their employees! This is a great place!

::Just had Mother’s Day brunch and loved the three course brunch they had. The mimosas were a nice touch. The new management is doing a great job revamping this old gem. Will definitely visit again!!

::The skinny margaritas were good. The service was great. My husband and I ordered Kevin's fajitas. They were not what we expected. It is okay food. I know it is under new management. So, it's worth trying again.

::Highly recommend the creole enchiladas and the churro ice cream dessert. Everything we’ve tried from here is delicious! They have new menu options, too, plus the classic favorites.

::It’s always refreshing to meet management that believe in their product and service. In addition, to have a staff that make excellent recommendations is a bonus. I am excited to return for my next meal. More specifically, the margarita was exquisite. A “skinny” margarita in a sense with natural lime juice without the additives. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I. A simple selection was made to fill my hunger. The fajita beef quesadillas were fresh and the guacamole was an awesome topper. Again, make sure to enjoy on your next visit. Cheers!
