::It's a long walk from the Metro, but my reward was my favorite Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich ($13). Loaded with meat, the sauce makes it deliciously messy. Unfortunately, no room for dessert.

::If you live South of Alexandria (Lorton, Woodbridge, etc) do yourself a favor and head down Route 1, make a right on Mt. Vernon Hwy to Route 400 and take a scenic drive to Southern 815. When 400 becomes S. Washington street, you’ll find this gem on your left. They said they had the best Catfish Po Boy on this side of the Mississippi and I believe them. The French roll was so soft and flaky. The catfish fried crispy and seasoned lightly as not to overpower the taste of the fresh fish. If you want to turn it up a notch, take the pickled coleslaw that comes with the meal and put it on top of your Po Boy for a platinum level experience. It came with crispy fries as well. I’ll definitely be visiting again to try other menu items. We also had the fried green tomatoes which rival any I’ve tried in the area. I almost withdrew a star, however, because I didn’t like the peach pound cake at all. But we waited to eat it when we got home. Maybe that affected it. I don’t know. The ice cream was great though which is why I continued on with the five stars.

::This is a top five favorite for me in the DMV. I have been coming since 2001 and this restaurant has stood the test of time. While I don't sit at the bar as much as I did when I was in my 20s, they still have some of the nicest bartenders around. Nowadays, when I visit I am with my family for dinner. We came for my birthday most recently and had a really great time. The service was great, friendly, and attentive. Our dinner was excellent. We started with the pulled pork nachos, the best you will find. My wife had the jambalaya (sauce was excellent) and I had the low country shrimp and sausage. The low country had a lot of protein and the gravy and cheddar grits we're so good I could not wait for the leftovers the next day. If I had one wish for this place, that would be to bring back the low country shortcake to the menu. Still one of my all-time favorites!

::The food was good, staff were nice, only think is it took a long time for our food to arrive. We enjoyed all the food we ordered, and was impressed with prices. We will be back

::Dive-bar feeling restaurant, but the food is really good! Christian took great care of us. The batter on the onion strings was light, crispy and flavorful. The portobello mushroom sandwich was like a vegetarian cheese steak... the roll it came on was amazing. Make sure to save room for dessert and order the chocolate brownie sundae!
