Nice space, they had issues with their beer dispenser when I was there, and have had better espressos but friendly and comfortable

I rarely drink coffee anymore, but if I do it's here. I drink it black because it is too good for milk and has that slight inherent sweetness that would be overwhelmed by sugar. I buy the very fresh beans for home so spouse and guests can enjoy. A brochure explains that it is is fair to the growers; there are technicalities that prevent it being called Fair Trade. This is a comfortable simply furnished place with delicious fresh snacks. I haven't tried the beer. Yet.

Love this place. Staff very friendly, especially Ben..The coffee is definitely the best coffee around Park Slope., and the pastries and cookies are phenomenal. 02/17/18- So I had to do an updated review after seeing all the negative reviews! Really people? Get over it already and be honest! This is a great place with terrific coffee, and since there are many coffee connoisseurs in Park Slope, I too am one..I’ve tried many coffee spots in the neighborhood, have lived in the same neighborhood for over 28 years, and this coffee is truly fresh and tasty! Now with regards to the staff, I’ve been coming to this spot since it’s opened, and EVERYONE is friendly, no attitude at all!! Pastries are delish, bagels are fresh, and they are now crossing over into beer on tap. So if you want good coffee, friendly atmosphere, and staff, uptown roosters is for you...Thanks Johny and Josh, and formerly Ben, you guys are always polite and friendly !!!!

Very average all around. I'm a coffee fanatic so I've been on the hunt for a great roaster in my neighborhood. If you just need a coffee to go, this will work, but if you're looking to hangout for any kind of ambiance or experience, this is not it. I'd recommend Gather next door, Cafe Grumpy, or Blue Bottle instead. Had a shocking experience the other day when their owner/manager chided me inappropriately for sitting in their back room. Apparently it's for rent, but I had no idea, and she was totally awful about it. Yikes, do not recommend.
