Don't believe any bad reviews about this awesome place. I was just there, and boy did they make my day. I had a fantastic time at South Shore. They were very helpful, and helped me find a bike that was exactly what I looking for. I saved about $200 by going to South Shore then online. Beside being great at building bikes, they were also very knowledgeable about the brands, and its manufacturers. And a bonus, you can test bikes in their large smooth parking lot to see how it runs. This is the store where you want to buy your bike! You guys at South Shore are the greatest!

I gave them 5 star for several reasons!!! Professional Knowledge and experience on complete bikes, components and parts. Service is always great, they go above and beyond to make you happy. Ive shopped all over L.I and their prices are cheaper. Their inventory might be small however, they were able to order me a bike that no other shop could in a timely fashion. THANKS SOUTH SHORE!!!

This place is great! I love going to a community location instead of a large department store. The staff knows you by name and its always a fun time! The bicycles are top notch quality. I would never buy bikes any where else after dealing with the guys at south shore bicycles. I especially like the girl with crazy hair and tattoos. Shes funny.

This was the worst service ever. I dropped my bike off for a tune-up on a Saturday and was told it would be ready by the next Friday. I go to pick it up and I'm told they are just starting to work on it. I miss my ride the next day and finally pick up my bike. I was told it was in proper working order but I soon found out that was not true. The main reason for taking the bike in for a tune-up is it's inability to move to the lower gears. When I picked up my bike and take it for a ride it still couldn't go in to the lower gears. I take it back and the first question they ask me is if I did something to the gears. After got over my discuss, I explained to the clerk that if they had tested the bike and it worked, the nice freshly cleaned sprocket would have some oil on it like the gears they obviously tried. I left the bike again for them to address the original issue I paid for. A week goes by with not even a call from the bike shop on the status of my bike. I call the store and I'm told it's not ready and they ordered new shifters and it would cost me another $98.00 for the new ones. After I explained it has been a week, and inquired what they doing with the bike for the past week,I was told a manager would call me within the hour. Two hours later I call back and I'm asked "The manager didn't call?" I'm put on hold and then told he said he called. I then explained to the clerk I didn't get a call and he didn't put the phone on hold as he called the manager on another phone. The clerk then proceeds to apologize for my experience and inform me that my bike would be ready on Monday or Tuesday. I informed him that if they would have done what I paid for the first time; I would have no problem paying for new shifters but three weeks later and now being told I need new shifters, I have a problem. I told them to put my old shifters on and I would be picking my bike up. The next phone call I received was from the owner. He was very apologetic, blamed his managers for all the issued and indicated they went against some of his policies. He said he was looking at the bike now and If I let him he would have it ready today. What's funny is that he got through to me on the first try on the phone number they had listed. He said he was call back in 20 min and he did. He said he would take care of the problem, replace the shifters and get my bike back to me. For once I was told the truth in this saga. I finally received my bike back in proper working order that day. This is just another example of what happens when you leave someone else in charge of your business who does not have the owners best intrest at heart.
