  I had just bought a new pair of jeans, but when I put them on at the gym, I realized the shoes I brought were one inch too low. Travesty! Particularly considering how nasty the soma streets are for dragging pant cuffs. So I dashed into the South Park Cleaners and desperately asked the lady who runs the place if she could hem it, and also right that minute. Not only did she completely understand and set me up with a chair in the dressing room, but she did it perfectly and in just ten minutes! And she charged so little, I wanted to double the amount I paid. Anyway, she kindly requested that in the future, I give her a day to do such a deed, and I've now taken other hemmings plus dry cleaning there, and they did a *fantastic* job. This is one of those small neighborhood places where they smile when you walk in, it doesn't smell weird, and you feel happy patronizing the business. Very unlike Peninou, which I deplore. Go here instead.

  Charming park, tucked into a block instead of exposed to the main streets. Playground is old & not in great shape though.
