::Expensive so I had higher expectations. Food is subpar. Vegetarian burger was dry, but just ask for condiments or avocado with it. Fish taco was good. I looked over the menu and what others ordered. Didn't seem impressive to me. However, the Mt. Eden Chardonnay was very good! But costs $15 per glass. If you sit outside, they serve it on stemless glass, which warms up white wine quickly, not ideal, but the wine is so good you won't have time to let it warm up. They also have live guitarist! He added a very nice vibe.

::We had a great experience at SoCel last night. Our server, Chloe, was wonderful. We were seated in the back garden, and found it a bit too warm by the heater, so we asked if we could move and have a glass of wine near the fire pit (which was off). Not only did she agree, she found us a little folding table for our wine glasses. It was clearly a busy night, but service was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious. We were so delighted that we made another reservation for brunch this morning, to take advantage of our overnight in Alexandria. See you soon!

::The food and wine was nice but this was the worst service I’ve had in my life. We sat down and ordered two glasses of wine and a cheese plate. Fifteen minutes later, our waiter came back and asked if we wanted any food. We reminded him about the cheese plate and he admitted he forgot to put in the order. He then disappeared for a 20 minute break without telling us. Someone from the kitchen brought out our order. Our wine and water were long gone by this point so we tried not to eat the cheese plate while waiting for some more wine to pair with it. I made eye contact with a waiter at nearby tables but he ignored us entirely. Eventually my boyfriend got up to refill our waters since he saw a stand nearby and we had been there for about an hour now. After 20-30 minutes with the cheese plate and no wine our waiter came back, asked how it was, and started leaving. We had to call him back to ask for more. Had the service been nice, I would’ve easily rated this place 4-5 stars, but it was one of the miserable and embarrassing dining experiences I’ve ever had...

::Love everything about Sonoma Cellar!! First things first, they claim they don’t source a bad wine and that could not be more true. Every single wine on their menu is fantastic and nuanced and exciting. From the food that we have tried, the flavors are excellent and they are more than willing to accommodate food allergies. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint no matter where you are sitting and you can tell the owners put some love into the place. Hands down the best part about this place is the people. They will go out of their way and then some to make sure that you are completely taken care of and happy. They treat their customers like family, and that is absolutely the vibe of the restaurant. They are generous, they are friendly, and they care. They beat my expectations every time even when I’m expecting the best. I will always come back to Sonoma Cellar and I can easily say that this is one of my favorite places to be.
