::I asked Snappy to look at an electrical panel that was tripping. I told them in advance that it was old and asked if they would take a look and tell me what was wrong. They agreed. Later that day, they came out and quoted me a price of over $1,400 to replace the panel without even examining the bus or the stability of the breakers. They refused to write-off the bill, added late charges and never responded to my request that it be credited. You may ask, so what's the deal? Here's the deal. The problem was fixed by another, competent electrician! He actually looked at the panel and said it is fine; there was no need to replace it. The problem was an HVAC unit that pulled more power the panel's capacity. Fortunately, the unit could easily be modified at no cost. The panel and unit work perfectly, and I have had no problem since the second electrician actually bothered to look at the panel. I am so glad I did not spend $1,400 to pay Snappy to replace it. If I had, I would be $1,400 poorer and still have to hire someone to find out and correct the problem!
