::Shifman advertises its very expensive mattresses as "The finest handmade mattresses in the world". When we complained to Shifman that our king size mattress has a ridge in the middle and depressions that make it very uncomfortable. Shifman requested that we take pictures and submit them, which we did. Shifman replied that the depressions do not appear to be in excess of one and one-half inch so there is nothing they will do under warranty. Although a depression of even one inch should not appear in the finest mattress, there is no way Shifman can tell from the photographs that the depressions are less than one and one-half inch, which they are. We were told that if we wanted Shifman to inspect the mattress we have to pay for transportation costs of the mattress to and from the factory. Certainly Shifman mattresses are not the finest in the world and its customer service is on an equally low level.

::My wife and I needed a new mattress about 5 years ago. We had heard rave reviews about Shifman mattresses so we decided to look at them We went to a local furniture store (an authorized dealer) and purchased a queen set at a cost of over $3000. We were assured that this was a top of the line product and we would have many years of use for this investment. After about 5 years the mattress is sagging to the middle and the box spring squeaks. When we contacted Shifman, they referred us to the store where we bought it. They arranged for the factory rep to come and look at it which he agreed to do after I had to convince him the squeak wasn't in the frame but definitely the box spring. After cancelling 2 appointments he showed up and said the mattress was fine but the box spring needed work. They wanted to send a "loaner" box spring while they took ours back for repair. This is a totally unacceptable solution. I called Shifman again and as yet have not heard back. Very disappointing.
