  “Bakin & Eggs” and “Berries & Batter” are right down the street and much more deserving of your hard earned money. Came into S&G and was rudely welcomed by the hostess. Then we we were sat in the far back corner, although there were plenty of open seats. After we sat for 5 minutes and no one welcomed us, we decided to move and then were scolded by the same rude hostess. Walked out and walked down the street to the other breakfast options that have far better menus and a more fun ambiance.

  Friend was seated in back corner with very little room, I then arrived and we politely moved to a different table where there were multiple open. Hostess (shorter lady with dark hair) came up and yelled at me specifically for getting up and moving. Made a scene in front of multiple guests while yelling at us.. Very unprofessional and horrible service. Would not recommmend if she is still hostessing.

  Always come here for breakfast when we visit from Michigan. Always great food and amazing service. They make you feel like you're family.

  It's a nice old school breakfast place. They got everything you want you get some eggs you get pancakes with them, the usual for that type of place. If you want a good simple breakfast and not some weird vegan thing this is the place for you

  Still looking for a real 'diner' in Chicago (read: fast, really good basic food!) Thought this was it. Until the food came, nothing cooked as we asked. Edible. But that was it. Waitress didn't seem to care. Won't be back.
