This evening, I entered Sephora with the curiosity of purchasing a high end skin care regime. I walked to the very back of the store to find a young lady with a long frowned face. I gave her a back story of my skin so she can see if there was anything that would work for me. The women gave me a dry answer with no assistance at all. I decided to simply just get a sample since I was not ready to purchase an expensive regime without knowing if it would work for me. I scrolled through best sellers and Allure awarded products in the Sephora App and found it much more useful and informative. After I chose the product I handed it to the employee so she can be kind enough to give me a sample-size so I may try at home. The women came up to another employee and whispered with a mean look on her face. I literally felt like I was in "Mean Girls" and a bad roomer came out about me or something. She mad-dogged me and passed me over someone who was much more kind and informative. The second lady was super sweet and polite and even gave me a mask favorite of hers. The second lady set the correct expectations and friendliness. All the stars go to her. The star missed was because of the first experience. I believe the skincare consultant job is "[t]o be a skincare expert and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to all clients." Overall, I found this true to only the second employee who helped me this evening. I do not plan to go back to this Sephora location anytime soon.

I think this is the last time I'll try this place. I've been here 4 different times, different months, different days of the week and the people who work here are never friendly. I don't know if they are on commission or not but they're profiling techniques are terrible. No one has ever spoken to me or asked if I need help finding any product, even if I wander in the store looking for a certain line of make uo. So I go and buy what I need some where else.

I really really don’t get why people like Sephora. I really don’t. I’ve tried to like them, really I have. I have so many friends and acquaintances and family members and even a few coworkers who rave about Sephora but I really don’t get why. I’m also amazed my parents generation has yet to include Sephora on a list of stupid things my generation likes. I’ve been to Sephora stores in two different states with very different groups of people in them and they’re all just like this one in Brea. I’ve also been to Sephora stores, including this one, over and over again over a time period of six years. In both Utah and in California every single time I’ve visited Sephora the store is full of mostly Millennials and mostly women being ignored by snooty and rude employees in a store that that is trashed. When these mostly Millennial customers find something they like - and they usually find it by themselves, the associates don’t seem to like people at all - they wander to the line and stand there for thirty minutes to be helped out by a rude, snooty employee who treats them like garbage. I’ve heard people say that they are racial profilers. Trust me when I say - they are equal opportunity human haters. Utah is something like 90% white and they hate on everyone there. They do a fabulous job of pretending customers don’t exist. Which is a feat of awesomeness given they don’t have their phones on them. My mother insisted on taking me to a Sephora in the Salt Lake City suburb my parents live in. We got there when they opened at 12, were among four (yes four!) customers in that Sephora, and still the employees refused to do anything but pretend there were no customers present. The last time I wandered into this Sephora, it was a mess, it was crowded and the employees had their resting you-know-what face on. Those were the makeup artists. The other employees I couldn’t really find. When I finally did find one she was clearly of the mindset that humans suck and was bolting through the store trying to find the employee exit. I only came to see ColourPop in person, and when I finally found someone to help me locate their display, that person was angry and annoyed that ColourPop is popular and why are they a thing, etc. I really hope ColourPop ditches snobby Sephora and goes for Ulta instead. I personally have too much self respect to give this company my money. If being treated like human garbage is your thing, feel free to drop your money at Sephora. Any Sephora. At least in California and Utah they’re all the same. I’ll stick with Ulta, ColourPop’s website and whatever store that isn’t Sephora that sells Chanel’s line of cosmetics and wherever I can find Nyx that also isn’t Sephora. The staff at Walgreens - even the ones who don't know cosmetics - are more helpful. Don't waste your time at Sephora.

Worst store ever!! especially the short fat Hispanic girl with long black hair !! After she kept eyeing me like if I was going to steal something .. she decided to be the one to assist me on the cash register .. she then asked me where I put the lipstick I was trying .. I told her why she was asking !!! I felt so humiliated !! I honestly feel like I was targeted due to my looks !! Yes I am Hispanic as well but my hair had roots coming out and I looked kinda crappy due to being sick... when she finished my transaction she did not count the bills and did not even say bye or have a nice day !!! Soo horrible!!
