::Seems like a cool church. I found out about Scum some time back via a podcast interview with Michael Sares. Can't recall the name of the podcast but the point is, is that I heard "soundness of mind" and understanding in that interview. Ive never been to Scum but I follow Michael and the church on social media and can say that everything I have read and heard seems scripturally sound, down to earth and compassionate. Wish they had a chapter in Michigan near me!

::The first sermon I heard of this church by Mike Sares said "Jesus was a failure on the cross." Sorry, but that's SUPER DUPER FALSE. He won the victory by not calling himself down from the cross, holding his peace and bearing the punishment in humility.

::This "church" and group of people are the most awesome group. I describe it as a group of very artistic right brained non conforming not your usual followers of rules and non adherence of what THEY say is how one should dress act and worship. We receive the teaching taught totally from God's word, not any instructions from man. We have our own art gallery located at the church its self on 11th St and Santa Fe. Every one takes part in some way to keep the building and grounds as a member of the community and neighborhood clean and good examples. We have a strong homeless ministry. We serve a hearty and free breakfast on Sunday mornings before the 10 of clock service. If any homeless person feels like staying for the service they are completely welcome with no strings attached. We have different teaching "groups" Monday's Wednesdays . Sunday eves. We also support the 1st Friday art walk up and down Santa Fe St. I can tell you that if your tired of the churches that must maintain the status quo, you will thoroughly enjoy the fresh and easy going and most of all friendly people at SCUM OF THE EARTH CHURCH.
