This was a fun visit. We arrived a half-hour before they opened and we're more toward the front of the block long line....get there early and be prepared to wait for at least an hour. We made our way in and ordered...like getting a golden ticket...totally worth it. We enjoyed the beef hash, and my son had the bananas Foster french toast. The food is really good here but the wait is unbelievable especially in the cold and no heat lamps....that line by the way was still a block long when we left...EARLY folks, first in line if ya can.

This place is amazing, and it has the lines outside to prove it. The restaurant is southern themed soul food dressed up a little. Although everything I have had here on my many visits has been very good, the fried chicken is by far the best. The southern dishes are both authentic and delicious. My friends from the south I have taken here have all stated that it is at least as good as the best places they would have this kind of food back home. If you are willing to battle the line around the corner and the occasional weather in those lines then I encourage you to give this place a try.

Chicken and waffles were insanely good!! Nice and peppery breading, and sweet potato pancakes gave a unique flavor! Blood orange mimosa was fantastic, too. Crowded, as expected, but deserves the hype. Everything on the brunch menu sounded fantastic - very difficult to decide, and I will definitely be back for more!

Nothing special about this place. Food is good. It's Portland though so most places have good food. Constantly has a line which might be an indicator that the place is good! I think it's an indicator that hipsters like it which is attractive to other hipsters. Those folks love to wait in line.

Great comfort food and great prices. We had the fried chicken and the brisket. I thought the chicken was excellent but a little too salty. The brisket was very smoky but very good. We started with hush puppies and fried oysters which were both really good. The one big downside to eating here is waiting in the giant line to get inside. If we go back it will be with reservations (you need 6 people to reserve and have to do it well in advance).
