  My son has gone here going on 2nd year. Enjoys going everyday never bored. Has friends challenging school work. Great staff.Best school ever

  My daughter is part of the initial class of students for this excellent school. SAMI is an experiment by the successful team that built School of the Arts (SOTA), which my son attended. These two schools are perhaps some of the best public schools in Washington State, if not the country. Small classes, experimental programs focused on students doing, learning, experiencing, helping each other while led and instructed by motivated and smart teachers. Classes are held in the park, at the zoo, on the shore, in addition to the many classrooms. These kids get wet hiking trails while identifying native and invasive species. They get sand on their knees while gathering samples from the Puget Sound to examine in the classroom later. They build unique and creative projects, and are truly treated like the individual students they are.
