::Sam's Club, owned by WalMart, a pioneer of efficient self-check transactions, has no self-check at the Gilbert Road location. The store is stocked in accordance with Sam's Club policy, a relatively ecclectic mash-up, to say the least. I do manage to find some of the stock to be very useful, so I will remain a customer for the immediate future. The prices and store size are make this location superior to others. The workers are top notch, especially with the influx of displaced workers from the Arizona Avenue location. All good people.

::I've been a Costco member for more than 15 years and today was the first time I set foot in a Sam's Club. I've been missing out. It was a nice run Costco but Sam's has things you just don't offer. Love the Premier Protein clear drink among other items I was happy to discover at Sam's Club.

::It seems to be a bit smaller than some other locations but perhaps that is because of how it is arranged. Our cashier never even spoke to us. Not "hello", not "thank you ". Nothing. Oh yes, he did tell us the total. That was it. The demonstrators were terrific and informative about their products. The line at the deli to get a hotdog or a slice of pizza was very long. It wound around into the area where people were leaving, making it difficult for people to maneuver their carts out the door. The fellow checking carts at the exit door didn't even look at people's receipts. Odd. All in all a clean store, though.

::Renewed my membership for Christmas baskets and things for office gifts. Negative is that their baskets are all alcohol or candy. Very lame. Years past they had cookie baskets, cheese and meats, tools, coffee and now only 2 choices. Not a real great selection of meats and the seafood is overpriced. To top it all off employees were literally being paid to watch a football game. Not just watching but yelling and screaming so loudly that it was heard from the back of the store. Will upload the video to show what employees are doing.
