  Sam is the best. A true gentleman. After sitting in his chair a few times, you will realize that it’s becoming a lost profession - elsewhere.

  Just left Sam's barbershop. Sam was a great guy, but he is NOT a great barber. I just left Sam's barbershop and I lost my beard. I asked him to follow the outline of how it was cut by my previous barber, and he did not. Now, my beard is gone. The line was not sharp. If you are an African American living in downtown Detroit, looking for a good barber, Sam's barbershop is NOT the place to go. After finishing my cut with Sam, I immediately went to another barber to salvage what Sam had destroyed. Now, I have no beard, a bad line, and I'll have to let my hair grow back for weeks before I get another cut. I don't recommend this barbershop.

  The best haircut experience I've ever had. Sam has been cutting hair in the same building for 64 years and has a very loyal clientele base for a reason.

  Sam is great! Passing through from Europe, Sam got me in at short notice and helped me look decent for a very good price.
