::Place is awesome. Staff, eh. Not so much.

::Location is convenient and some sections offer a good selection - or a decent one. It’s not all that big so don’t expect it to have everything other Safeway’s may have. Don’t expect it to always have the same thing you got here the last time you visited..I’ll come back and not be able to find something I liked that I use to get here.

::Need more organic choices. Good sale on lamb saved it from a lower rating.

::Remember the old DC Safeway nicknames? (Secret Safeway, Social Safeway, Sexy Safeway, etc.) This particular location, despite being in Arlington, holds the title of Underground [Subterranean] Safeway. However, it seems to embrace several of the other DC Safeway monikers, in particular: - Secret Safeway [buried in a parking garage] - Soviet Safeway [not well stocked and the produce is terrible] - Stinky Safeway [smells like spoiled milk and rotting meat] - UnSafeway [if you eat anything purchased from here, you'll probably get food poisoning] These traits, along with the sticky floors, cramped interior, surly customer service, and long checkout lines (no self-checkout?!), makes this location probably one of the worst chain grocery store outposts in the DMV. I'm about 99% sure that Safeway corporate has forgotten about this store's existence, because no self-respecting supermarket conglomerate would tolerate the conditions here. Unfortunately it's the only grocery store in Rosslyn proper (save for Target's mini market), and unless you're willing to blow your paycheck at MOM's or Whole Foods, you're pretty much stuck with this craphole.

::This Safeway is an ok place to shop. They have the usual common produce and goods, so if you are looking for standing fare, this place will work for you. However, if you are looking for anything exotic, this place is lacking. It is convenient from the metro and has an on-site (paid) parking garage. Beware, you will likely lose cell signal here since it is in a basement.
