I wish I could give a lower rating! Do not believe their TV and Radio ads, totally bogus! I had a broken windshield and my insurance company recommended Safelite in Bethpage NY. I called on a Wednesday morning and they told me that the earliest appointment they can gave me is the next week on Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday morning a Safelite technician called me and told me that the windshield they have is cracked and they will try to get me another one. Finally the tech called me at 4PM and told me that the earliest they can come is next week on Tuesday and he was very rude to me because I questioned him why such a big delay again. I was very upset and called back my insurance company and they recommended another local company. They came the next day and did a wonderful job on my windshield. I hope no one ever uses Safelite in Bethpage New York, terrible service! Avoid this place at all cost!

1 Star is way to high for this company. I wish I could give a lower rating. I hope no one ever uses their service ever again. In early July 2014, I noticed 3 chips in the windshield. I called my insurance & was told to schedule my repairs through Safelite & they will pay for it. I always see the Safelite commercials about them repairing these kinds of damage. I scheduled Safelite to come out to "repair" my windshield. They arrive on time & begin work. Next thing I know, they are in the middle of pulling the existing windshield out which only had 3 small chips in it & are about to install a new windshield. I had specifically said to both my insruance & Safelite that it only needed to be repaired, not replaced. The new windshield is also sub par compared to the original as well. Upon completion, I noticed they left a lot of resin on both front fenders near the windshield & all along the new windshield, as well as resin inside my interior. I had a hard time cleaning up the resin on the exterior of the car. I STILL can't get the resin out of my interior. After finally cleaning the exterior of my car, I notice that they left scratches on both front fenders. I then called my insurance to complain & all they would do is transfer me over to Safelite who then told me I would have to take my car down to the local shop for the shop manager to inspect. I arrive at the Bethpage location & waited about 10 mins for the rude receptionist to get off of the phone to help me. Meanwhile the even ruder shop manager Frank, who was sitting directly behind her would not get up to even look at me. He was way too busy talking with with one of his friends to even do his job. The receptionist finally finished her call & had the manager (who was directly behind her) come out to inspect my car. He would not take any responsibility & proceeded to start an argument over how his guys could not have caused this damage & that he was only willing to buff the damage out. The scratches go down to the metal. You can't buff that out. This now has to be repainted. I'm already fuming at this point, I don't need this clown to get me angrier than I already am. I then call my insurance again to get them on this because I'm not paying for damage done to my car when it was their recommendation to have Safelite replace my windshield when it only needed to be repaired. I am told that they will contact Safelite, set up compensation & call me back within 24 hours. I never hear back from either. I contact Safelite again & talk to Steve Moreo with their Executive Service Team who also tells me that he will be in touch with me by the next morning. I never hear back from him. I contact Safelite yet again the next day, this time through Facebook. The person I am now put in touch with, Sarah Powers (also with their Executive Service Team) tells me that she was told by the Bethpage shop that I had refused their offer to have my car repainted. First of all, that shop never offered to repaint my car & second, I was the one who had told them that it needed to be repainted. She then tells me that I would have to bring my car to one of their body shops to see if they feel the scratches can be buffed out. I refuse to bring my car to any place connected to Safelite. I have worked in the auto body field & I know what kind of damage is there. I then threaten legal action & get an estimate from a body shop that I trust. It's funny, the only way I was ever able to get anything accomplished with these crooks was through Facebook & with my attorney contacting them. The set up a rental for my while my car was being repaired, only to come to find out that I had to pay for the gas. Really? I only needed this rental in the first place because of the damage your company caused. I had to then go to the BBB to get half of my money refunded. I was contacted again a month later with the rest of my refund. This company loves to play games. Stay far far far away from this location & any Safelite location.

Thursday 11-17 Still waiting for their call so I can get this odyssey over with. Not loving Safelite. Tues 11-8 Went back to shop. They ordered another windshield and the damaged wiper fascia/valance. They will call me to schedule an appt once the parts are in. Sunday 11-6 945a - The windshield still creaks and rattles. It is emanating from the passenger side top. Obviously nothing to do with the glue requiring more time to set. Also, closely inspected the holes in the wiper valance and it is obvious they are freshly made. Can't wait to see how Safelite reacts to the me , as a customer, when I bring it back to them to repair the shoddy work and replace the wiper valance they damaged. Will keep you informed. Sat 11/5/16- So far not very happy. Picked up my car and the new windshield is rattling/creaking over every car small to large bump in the road. Get home look at windshield and the wiper arm valance also has two holes punched into it with a third half way through. I wash this car regularly and no should try to tell me those holes were there before the windshield was replaced, especially since the valance has to be removed or pulled forward to remove and replace the windshield. These appear to be holes punched by a metal tool used to lift or remove the plastic valance. So, called shop at 11:45 am to discuss the above issues and was informed the Manger had left for the day. A very calm person told me the glue requires two days to set and I will need to bring the car back after the two days should the creaking and rattling persist. I am hoping against hope they are correct about the glue setting but I am skeptical because rattles and creaks where not mentioned when I picked up the car. They did mention car washing and tape removal but most definitely not creaks and rattles. Also, have had many windshields replaced over the years and rattles and creaks were never heard. As for the multiple holes in the valance, they claim to have pictures of the car before the work was started. I will see what they show. As of now I am assuming they are honest and did not take the pics after the new windshield was installed and claim the holes were there before the work was done. My frustration and low rating stem from this...At the very least, should the rattle and creak stop in two days, I still have to take time off and return to this shop and regarding the holes in the valance. Will post an update this Tuesday, after hearing what the Safelite will or will not do for a customer regarding their workmanship.
